Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air

 Mac, Review, Windows     No comments

The first thing that come to your mind after seeing the design and the name you'll notice that is NOT inspired by the MacBook Air. (I'm Joking)

Xiaomi really take on a MacBook Air this time with their new Mi Notebook Air. It's slimmer than the MacBook Air with all metal unibody design. I really like how it has logoless exterior design and in my opinion this is one of the best looking laptop I've ever seen. The keyboard and the track pad color is also match to body and it's also remind me of the Surface Book.

Mi Notebook Air come with 2 models

This 13.3" model will out perform the MacBook Air especially in the graphic department as it got the NVIDIA GeForce 940MX so that's mean you can play some game on it.

 Review     No comments

If you are the fitness guy and shopping for an activity tracker that is not a smart watch with a very budget price u should consider the Xiaomi Mi Band 2. You would be surprise of what this $40 activity tracker can do.

Design
First let's talk about the design, for the first the Mi band spot an OLED display that make it look different from it predecessor. The module color is black and still sit in the silicon band so that's mean you can change the color of the silicon band anytime. In the front it has the OLED display and a capacitive button that look shiny you can tap it to see the information display (we'll get into that later. Xiaomi also claim that the display is also UV coated, scratch resistant and anti-fingerprint . The the silicon band is soft and feel good on the wrist also.

Function
For everyday use the Mi band tracking system is pretty good and accurate with step tracking and the module also detect when you sleep and wake up automatically. The heart rate sensor is also included but sometimes i feel like it's not so reliable but overall is good. The module also has the vibration motor so the mi band can remind you to start making movement when you sit idle for 1 hour. you can also you it as a silent alarm clock that can vibrate to wake you up. The Mi Band 2 also comes with an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. so that you don't have to be worry about washing your hand but wouldn't want to swim with it. The battery also last around 2 weeks on a single charge which is great.

Addition Features
Outside tracking the band can also give you notification from a phone call, SMS and other apps too. it can be use as a smart unlock device so that you can unlock your phone without security when you're nearby.

Mi Fit App
To use the app first you'll need to connect the Mi Band to phone via Bluetooth connection. The app itself is simple and easy to use. There 3 sections in the app which are Status is a dashboard for viewing your daily step, heart rates, goal and other information about yourself. The 2nd section is Play is a setting page for the device to recieve notification from phone call or other app. you can also set the silent alarm or you can ask it to remind you when you sitting idle for a long time and there are more feature that you can discover by yourself.
